Sax Strings Film

A 9 track free jazz album (1h 4m 40s) — released November 18th 2022 on Four Flies

"Sax Strings Film" is an elegant amalgam of classical music written by Fabio Borgazzi, one of the most prolific composers of library music in Italy between the 1960s and 1980s. Originally released only as a promo CD with the title "Concerto Azzurro" (RING RCD 2541, 2003) and now very hard to find, the album is here presented for the first time in digital format with the addition of four pieces, "Quattro Soli per Sax," "Dritto e Rovescio," "Dritto e Rovescio (Moderato)" and "Dritto e Rovescio (Andante)", all of which fit wonderfully, in terms of mood and intention, with the chamber music vibe of the original release.
Nestled somewhere between abstraction, classicism, jazz influences and melancholic overtones, "Sax Strings Film" takes us on a journey across evocative and dramatic soundscapes that are perfect for both absorbed listening and synchronization with moving images.
