"Taste This Sound" is the rallying cry with which FABRIC make their debut on the scene. It's an explosion of groove, social conscience, and genre-blending that leaves no doubt about the project's direction.

The band—a fluid collective of musicians with diverse backgrounds and experiences—chose their name deliberately. Like a complex fabric of interwoven threads, the group embodies the creative fusion of genres, visions, and collaborations. Funk, soul, afrobeat, and an urban attitude weave together into a distinctive sound, one that is not afraid to tackle the issues of our time, while also inviting us to move, be present in our bodies, and enjoy life.

With echoes ranging from Fela Kuti to The Comet Is Coming, passing through ESG, Sault, and Jungle, FABRIC's debut single is a powerful, uncompromising statement of their sonic manifesto.

"'Taste This Sound' is one of the first tracks we wrote," they explain, "and it packs in some of the key elements that define us: an insistent groove, afrobeat echoes, retro synths, and biting post-punk guitars. Layered over this, the combined voices of Utibe and Symo carry a spirit of beauty, strength, and proud dignity. It's an invitation to dance. And to life."

The single comes ahead of their debut album, Until We Are Free. Both were mixed by Tom Campbell (Sault, Little Simz, Jungle) and feature original artwork by Raissa Pardini, who blended minimalism, contemporary design, and a post-punk attitude to create a visual identity that matches perfectly with the music.

So "Taste This Sound" and accept FABRIC's invitation: open your ears, move your body, and embrace the power to take a stand.
