Fabio Borgazzi, better known as Fabio Fabor (formerly Giorgio Fabor), is an Italian composer and music publisher that studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and became well-known in the mid-50s pop music scene. He wrote over 500 songs for a multitude of singers – including Miranda Martino, Nilla Pizzi, Enrico Gentile, and Rocco Montana – and major labels such as Parlophone, Durium, Vox, Columbia, Cetra, Phonocolor, and RCA. Moreover, he dedicated himself to classical music, composing operas, symphonies and chamber music and divulging his passion also as a journalist and radio host. Overall, his musical repertoire is quite heterogeneous, ranging from classical to film and television music. Between the mid-50s and mid-60s he wrote scores for films such as Dino Risi's "Poor But Beautiful" (1956), Gianni Puccini's "Carmela è una bambola" (1958), Giorgio Simonelli's "Marinai, donne e guai" (1958), and Antonio Roman's "La moglie di mio marito" (1961), amongst others. In My Italian Songs, you can discover the playful side of Fabio Borgazzi's discography: this collection focuses on some of his hits, which include refined orchestral arrangements as well as pieces that draw inspiration from a multitude of musical genres, from traditional Italian music, especially Neapolitan song, to Latin influences such as Cha cha cha, to elements of folk styles like Calypso, to the first expressions of the Beat movement. The songs in this collection will take you back to a different music era and plunge you into the atmosphere of the 50s Italian film scene. They will take you back to a sweeter time.
